Electronic Woes
Not only am I wrestling with insurance companies, to top it off my electronics are starting to mouth off a bit, too.
Look, I’m only one Goddess, okay? And how much am I supposed to take?
The toaster blew out; I can live with that. The TV remote is not behaving; I can live with that (not like I have a lot of spare time for the idiot box, anyway.) The dryer kicks off too early; the microwave is either heating things up too hot or not at all. Fine. Whatever. I can deal with all of that.
There’s just one thing I can’t deal with –
The coffeepot ain’t working.
And there, friends and neighbors, is where I Draw The Line.
Without coffee, my heart doesn’t beat. Without coffee, the brain cells are dazed and confused. Without coffee, someone is likely to get hurt.
I’m on a mission to find one of those percolators my momma had when I was young. You know, when we wrote on stone tablets with a chisel? Oh yes, I am. Then, I don’t care if every electronic gadget I have turns into a melted pile of smelly plastic, I will have my coffee if I have to build a fire in the living room an percolate it.
Sometimes, the old ways are best.
Hi there,
Girl when I read that post about coffee I could do nothing but laugh. I don’t know if people would be safe without me drinking coffee.
Nice to meet you Cat
Oh, I know! I better find that percolator soon or I’m going to be wearing someone’s guts for garters. It is not safe to be around me without an offering of coffee.
Nice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by

Dear Goddess:
I have found, in my personal fights with electronics, that a small sacrifice to the Goddess of Technology (I’m guessing that isn’t you, by the way, since you’re in the same boat) is often helpful.
I understand that she accepts small children. But I usually promise to make cookies for my teenage techie son. That usually satisfies the goddess and gets things rolling again.
