An Award and Some Bits and Pieces

January13

Susan at the lovely blog Hot Rocks Glass Jewels was kind enough to present Lala and I with the Noblisse Oblige Award. To say we are honored is an understatement, and we thank Susan very much for her nod.

What Lala and I have hoped to achieve with this blog is to bring a greater awareness to the issues that face women over forty. From politics to body issues; from sex after menopause to nutritional advice. We’ve covered personal losses and heartbreak with our readers, and by doing so, offering the hope that there may be big changes after forty, but they’re not all bad: actually, some of them are not only good for you but downright necessary. We want you to know you’re not alone, and what’s more, it’s okay to laugh, love, and evolve.

We’d like to present this aware to the following blogs:

1. Maitri’s Heart

2. Laane on the World

3.30 Something and Searching

4. Menstrual Poetry

5. Vixen’s Den

6. Broadway Matron

Thanks again to Susan for awarding this honor to us, and we hope you’ll continue to visit us here at Over Forty and Loving It for inspiration, information and the occasional giggle. We really appreciate our readers, and thank each and every one of you for accompanying us on our journey into the Unknown Decades.

It’s not as scary if we all hold hands.  :)

Oh, my. That is quite an award. It has more substance than most of the blog awards and I am very flattered. I will mention it and you but I shall pass on the rest. I don’t usually do awards and such. Thank very much.

Your Comment:

Welcome to Over Forty and Loving It! We’re just getting started, but we’re bringing women over forty the information they need and want. With our hormones deserting us, our kids leaving the house, we believe women should look forward to this stage of their lives. It’s not always pretty, not always easy, but we feel if you just keep an open mind, along with a wicked sense of humor, it can be fun.

You might be wondering, who are we? We’re two old friends who have nearly a hundred years of experience between us. We’ve both worked as nurses, as writers, love music and enjoy traveling whenever possible.  We know the joys and devastation of relationships. So here we are! Enjoy!
